Our state of Colorado "safer at home" order for COVID-19 exempts outpatient doctor offices and permits and encourages patients to seek medical care for anything you consider important, including routine checkups/physical; furthermore, getting your medical care at your medical home (ie. our office) keeps people out of the hospitals, which are experiencing the stress of COVID-19. We are following the AMERICAN ACADEMY OF PEDIATRICS (AAP) recommendations by: modifying our operations to keep well and sick patients separate, having separate exam rooms for well and sick patients, utilizing Telehealth when appropriate, and performing limited COVID-19 testing in our offices. All physicals are important and should be kept on schedule to help prevent vaccine-preventable diseases. We agree with the AAP and encourage families to keep their children current on their routine physical/vaccine schedules. Anything you consider important for your child's continued good health is important to us and we are able to accommodate you at this time!
Given the current concerns with COVID 19, and in order to better care for your child, we ask that you please inform us before you come to our offices if you have concerns that your child was exposed to, or may have COVID 19, or direct exposure to someone with the disease.
Our goal is to provide patients and their parents with the lowest risk of exposure to COVID 19 in our offices. We therefore are providing phone triage and further direction as needed for patients who have either been exposed or may have been exposed to COVID 19. Furthermore, to retain the confidence and maintain the safety of our patients, and by enacting recommendations of the CDC and our state and local health departments, each office, in slightly different ways, are keeping well and non-sick patients separate from sick patients. At our Highlands Ranch office, this means a separate entrance and waiting areas for our well check and other non-sick patients, and our main waiting room for sick patients. At our Ken Caryl office, this means dividing the day between well and non-sick visits in the morning and sick in the afternoon. Masks are given in the waiting room for patients with respiratory conditions, and rooms are segregated by location and/or time of day between well and sick patients, with frequent cleaning of surfaces. Please call before your scheduled visit if you have any other questions or need further explanation. We are here to serve!
